This compact gripper features a rack - and - pinion mechanism. A servo - driven pinion and opposing racks ensure that the gripper paddles stay synchronized and parallel during their 32 mm movement range. It comes with a special micro servo having an extra wire to access the feedback potentiometer, allowing you to precisely track the actual position of the gripper paddles. As a kit, it requires assembly. This same gripper is also part of the Robot Arm Kit for Romi.

Using this gripper kit is straightforward. First, assemble all the parts as per the included instructions. Once assembled, connect the servo to your control system. You can use the extra wire to monitor the position of the gripper paddles. When operating, make sure the power supply to the servo is stable to avoid erratic movements. As for maintenance, keep the gripper clean and free from dust. Occasionally, check the rack - and - pinion for any signs of wear. If you notice any issues, replace the worn - out parts promptly.
