Product Details

Dive into the world of LED matrices with this all - in - one, USB - C powered controller designed for HUB75 panels. The Interstate 75 is an RP2040 - based driver board for HUB75 - style LED matrices. It fits neatly at the back of an LED panel, offering a fast and easy way to create scrolling signage or an eye - catching LED display for sensor outputs. Similar to our MatrixPortal, but it uses only the RP2040 chipset driver instead of a SAMD51 + ESP32 for WiFi/BT, which makes it more budget - friendly. Powered and programmable via USB - C, it can supply up to 3A of power, enough for a single 64x64 (or smaller) panel, unless you're aiming for extremely bright displays. If you need more power to connect multiple panels, you can use the screw terminals. It also comes with two useful buttons (reset and a user - friendly button) and an onboard RGB LED. There's a STEMMA QT connector, making it a breeze to plug in STEMMA QT breakouts. Key features include being powered by RP2040 (Dual Arm Cortex M0+ running at up to 133Mhz with 264kB of SRAM), 2MB of QSPI flash supporting XiP, compatibility with 32x32, 32x64, and 64x64 LED matrices, sturdy screw terminals for power, a USB - C connector for power and programming (3A max), a Qw/ST (Qwiic/STEMMA QT) connector, reset, BOOT, and user buttons, an RGB LED, full assembly (no soldering needed), approximate measurements of 48.5 x 31 x 17mm (L x W x H, including connectors), a schematic, and C++/MicroPython libraries. Note that LED matrix panels and cables are sold separately.

Using the Pimoroni Interstate 75 is quite straightforward. First, connect it to the back of your HUB75 - style LED panel. You can power it via the USB - C connector, which can supply up to 3A of power. This should be enough for a single 64x64 or smaller panel. If you want to use multiple panels, you can inject more power through the screw terminals. The two buttons on the board can be used for resetting or for custom functions. The onboard RGB LED can add a bit of flair to your setup. When programming, you can use the provided C++/MicroPython libraries. To connect additional sensors or devices, use the STEMMA QT connector. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean environment. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. When handling, be gentle to prevent any physical damage. Remember, the LED matrix panels and cables are sold separately, so you'll need to purchase them according to your needs.
