For those who love to create their own custom keyboards, these Kailh Black Linear mechanical key switches are truly top - notch! They offer a smooth actuation, and are compatible with Cherry MX switches. If you're looking for a smooth linear keystroke with a slightly higher operating force than the Reds, these are perfect. Each pack contains 10 switches, which is enough for a small keyboard, or you can grab multiple packs to build a full - sized one. The operating force is 60 gf (+/-10 gf), with a pretravel of 1.8 mm (+/- 0.3 mm), a total travel of 3.6 mm (+/- 0.3 mm), and a reset point of 1.8 mm. You can use them with our NeoKey boards like the Socket Breakout and the FeatherWing. They also work well with mechanical key sockets, allowing you to avoid soldering. We also have MX - compatible key caps that fit right on. Additionally, we carry Red, White, and Brown versions for different key - press sensations. Just don't mix them up with The Black Keys, but they do have their own charm!

Using these Kailh Black Linear mechanical key switches is a breeze. First, if you're using them with our NeoKey boards like the Socket Breakout or the FeatherWing, simply align the switches and place them in the appropriate slots. If you choose to use mechanical key sockets, insert the switches into the sockets to avoid soldering. Then, snap on our MX - compatible key caps. When it comes to operating the keyboard, keep in mind that these switches have a slightly higher operating force than the Reds, so expect a bit more resistance when pressing the keys. For maintenance, it's a good idea to keep the keyboard in a clean and dry environment. If there's dust on the switches, you can use a can of compressed air to blow it away gently. Also, don't expose the keyboard to extreme temperatures as it might affect the performance of the switches. If you want different key - press feels, we have Red, White, and Brown versions available for you to try out.
