Using these cold 2-wire splices is a breeze. First, make sure you have 22 - 26 AWG solid core wire. Slip the wires into the plastic splice until they reach the metal teeth inside. Then, grab parallel-jaw or slip joint pliers and squeeze the splice down firmly. Avoid using needle-nose pliers as they won't provide enough force. You can also use a panavise to help with the squeezing. Remember, this is a two-way butt splice, so you can connect two wires at a time. It's a great solder-free option for joining multiple wires. The splices have a little silicone jelly to stop oxidation, but they're only somewhat weatherproof, not waterproof. Keep them in a dry place when not in use. And since you get 10 pieces in a pack, keep some in your drawer for future needs.
