Our Black Edition A4988 stepper motor driver carrier is a high - performance alternative to the original one. It comes with a four - layer PCB, which significantly improves thermal performance. Thanks to this design, the A4988 microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver can deliver about 20% more current than our two - layer (green) version. Similar to the original carrier, it offers adjustable current limiting, over - current and over - temperature protection, and five different microstep resolutions. It operates within a voltage range of 8 V to 35 V and can supply up to 2 A per coil with proper additional cooling. The board is shipped with 0.1″ male header pins, but they are not soldered.

Using this A4988 stepper motor driver carrier is easy. First, make sure to connect it to a power source within the 8 - 35V range. You can then adjust the current limiting according to your needs. Remember that if you want it to deliver up to 2A per coil, you'll need to add sufficient cooling. When handling the board, be careful not to touch the pins directly to avoid static damage.
