Pimoroni has packed all the amazing features of the Picade PCB onto this fantastic Picade HAT. It's the simplest and best way to create a cool arcade system with any Raspberry Pi. Just place it on your Pi, plug the Pi power supply into the micro - USB connector on the Picade HAT (it powers your Pi through the GPIO, no separate power supply needed). Then wire up your controls to the terminal blocks and install the driver. This HAT is perfect for custom arcade builds or interfaces that need big, colorful buttons. Key features include an I2S audio DAC with a 3W mono amplifier for great sound, a safe power on/off system, a micro - USB power connector that back - powers your Pi, 4 - way digital joystick inputs, 6 game button inputs, 4 utility button inputs, 1 soft power switch input, and breakout pins for other GPIO features. The I2S DAC combines the digital audio from the Raspberry Pi into a single mono output and sends it through the 3W amplifier to power speakers. The soft power switch lets you safely turn your Pi on and off, preventing SD card corruption. Tap the connected button to start and hold it for 3 seconds to shut down and disconnect power. Note: Raspberry Pi is not included. Check out our Arcade buttons and Joysticks for a great addition.

Using the Pimoroni Picade HAT for your Raspberry Pi is easy. First, gently place the Picade HAT on top of your Raspberry Pi. Then, take your Pi power supply and plug it into the micro - USB connector on the Picade HAT. This will power your Pi through the GPIO, so you don't need a separate power source. Next, connect your controls like joysticks and buttons to the terminal blocks. After that, install the provided driver. When it comes to powering on and off, just tap the connected button to start your Pi. To shut it down safely, press and hold the button for 3 seconds. This will prevent any damage to your SD card. Remember, the Raspberry Pi itself is not included with the Picade HAT. Also, while arcade buttons and joysticks are not part of the package, they can make your arcade system even better. For maintenance, keep the HAT in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you notice any loose connections, carefully check and re - attach them.
