Product Details

If you aim to be a smooth - operating expert, analog input is a must - have! This small operators' joystick is a fantastic input device for numerous robotics projects. It utilizes two 10KΩ potentiometers and a spring - back system for the X and Y axes. Connect one end of each potentiometer to the ground and the other to a higher voltage, then read the analog voltage from the middle (wiper). It's perfect for micro - controllers with analog inputs (such as those in the Genuino series) or the Raspberry Pi when used with our Explorer HAT Pro. This joystick can be panel - mounted and comes with mounting hardware and a soft dust shield to keep it in great working condition. The mounting holes on the base are 32.5mm x 32.5mm apart, and the whole joystick is 65.5mm tall, with a 40mm shaft. It has a standard 10KΩ resistance value, ±20% resistance tolerance (full range), ±1% independent linearity, ±400 ppm/°C temperature coefficient resistance, ±25° X and Y axis range, a 500,000 - cycle mechanical lifecycle, and an operating temperature range of - 10 to 80°C.

Using this joystick is easy. First, connect one side of each potentiometer to the ground and the other side to a higher voltage. Then, read the analog voltage from the middle part, which is called the wiper. It works well with micro - controllers having analog inputs or a Raspberry Pi along with our Explorer HAT Pro. When mounting it, make sure to use the provided hardware. The soft dust shield helps protect the joystick, so don't forget to install it. Keep in mind that the operating temperature of this joystick is between - 10°C and 80°C. Avoid using it outside this temperature range as it may affect its performance. For maintenance, you can gently clean the dust shield regularly. With a mechanical lifecycle of 500,000 cycles, it's built to last, but handle it with care to ensure long - term use.
