Product Details

The Micro: IO-BOX is an outstanding multifunctional expansion board for the micro:bit. It comes with on-board Li-ion battery power, a sleek and appealing design, and is incredibly easy to operate. On its 6cm×6cm board, we've packed in a wide range of functions including a 2-way driver motor, 9-way IO port, 2-way I2C port, 1-way serial port, 1-way buzzer, 4-way RGB LED, Li-ion battery box, charge circuit, and an emergency power interface. We've designed an outer protective cover to make it durable and long - lasting. Safety is our top priority, especially since many users are children. Instead of the 18650 battery with explosion risks, we've chosen the CR123A 3.6V 1000mA lithium rechargeable battery for its small size, high capacity, and high safety. We've also added short - circuit and reverse - connection protection for extra safety. To ensure a stable power supply, we use a high - cost boost - buck power management solution. Our strict tests show that two TT motors can run forward and backward continuously for about 1.5 hours until the battery runs out, and in normal operation, the battery lasts over 6 hours. Features include support for CR123A Li - ion battery 1000mA (available for sale), an average continuous usage time of 6h (varies by usage), external power supply of 3.7V - 5V (auxiliary 3 AA battery holder available), microUSB 5V charging interface for computer and cell phone charger, and support for motor voltage of 3V - 6V. Specifications cover supply voltage of 4.5 - 5.5V, CR123A 3.6V rechargeable Li - ion battery, 1 power switch, 350mA charging current, 2.5h charging time, digital output voltage of 0V/3.3V, analog input voltage of 0 - 3.3V DC, 1 - way on - board buzzer (PO), 1 buzzer switch, 4 WS2812B on - board RGB (P15), 2 - way motor interface (IIC), 9 - way micro: bit interface (P0, P1, P2, P8, P12, P13, P14, P15, P16), 2 - way IIC interface, 1 - way UART interface, and dimensions of 61×61mm/2.40×2.40”. Documents include the Product Wiki. The shipping list contains 1 Micro: IO - BOX.

Using the Micro: IO - BOX is easy. First, insert the CR123A 3.6V 1000mA lithium rechargeable battery into the battery box. You can also use an external power supply of 3.7V - 5V if needed. Connect the micro: bit to the 9 - way interface on the board. You can connect motors to the 2 - way motor interface and other devices to the various ports. To charge the battery, use the microUSB 5V charging interface. It can be connected to a computer or a cell phone charger, and it takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge. When using the board, make sure the power switch is turned on. You can control the buzzer using the buzzer switch. Remember, the average continuous usage time is about 6 hours, but this may vary depending on how you use it. For maintenance, keep the board clean and dry. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts. If you notice any issues like short - circuiting, stop using it immediately. Always use the recommended battery type to ensure safety and proper functioning.
