Product Details

The mbed boards are a great series of ARM microcontroller development boards made for quick prototyping. This breakout board makes it a breeze to start using your mbed LPC1768 module. The new application board is designed to allow for the most experiments and projects with the smallest size. It's really small, about the size of a credit card. This compact board makes it easy to connect to many peripherals. Just put an LPC1768 mbed module into the socket, and you'll have access to a 128x32 graphic LCD, a 5 - way joystick, a MEMS accelerometer, a temperature sensor, and more. There are headers on both sides of the mbed module socket so you can connect to breadboards and other off - board components. The silkscreen on the back of the board lists all the on - board devices and their connected pins, which helps you get your project up and running even without the reference manual. If you want to explore what the mbed LPC1768 module can do, this is an easy way to access different applications. Note: This is just a breakout board, and you'll need an LPC1768 module to use it. Check the related items below if you don't have one. Features include a double - row header for an LPC1768 mbed module, a 128 x 32 graphics backlit LCD with SPI interface, a 3 - axis accelerometer with I²C interface, a temperature sensor with I²C interface, a 5 - way navigation switch, 2 potentiometers, an RGB LED, a miniature loudspeaker, socket headers for Xbee Zigbee or RN - XV WiFi modules, 2 3.5mm audio jacks, 2 standard R/C servo motor headers, a mini - USB connector, a USB - A connector, a USB Host/Device select switch, an RJ - 45 Ethernet connector, and a 1.3mm 6 - 9VDC jack socket. Documents available are the schematic and the product page.

Using this mbed application board is easy. First, make sure you have an LPC1768 module. Insert the module into the double - row header on the board. Once it's in place, you can start connecting various peripherals. For example, you can use the 128x32 graphic LCD to display information, or the 5 - way joystick to control your project. You can also connect external devices through the headers on both sides of the module socket. When you're looking at the board, the silkscreen on the back shows which pins are connected to each device. This is really useful if you don't have the reference manual handy. Note that this is just a breakout board, so you must have an LPC1768 module to make it work. As for maintenance, keep the board clean and free from dust. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you're not using it for a long time, store it in a dry and safe place. When using different connectors like the USB or Ethernet ones, make sure to insert the cables gently to avoid damaging the ports.
