Product Details

Ever used a non-contact temperature gun? This MLX90632 is the latest and tiniest version of such a sensor. Just point it at an object, and you can remotely measure its temperature within 1 degree C. It's a really fun sensor to experiment with! The MLX90632 is like the MLX90614 we sell, but comes in a smaller and more user - friendly SMD package. It offers an amazing resolution of 0.02C from -20 to 85C, a very low supply current of 1mA, and has a 50 - degree field of view. The default read rate is 0.5s per measurement. The SparkX carrier board features a jumper to control the I2C address. You can remove the pull - up resistors if necessary, and it has two Qwiic connectors for quick setup. The working formulas of this device are complex and need 64 - bit operations. We're working on a library and will release it soon.

Using the MLX90632 infrared non - contact thermometer is easy. First, connect it using the Qwiic connectors on the SparkX carrier board. You can adjust the I2C address with the jumper on the board, and remove the pull - up resistors if you need to. Point the sensor at the object whose temperature you want to measure. In about 0.5 seconds, you'll get a temperature reading accurate within 1 degree C. Keep in mind that the formulas for this device are a bit complex, but we're creating a library to make it easier. For maintenance, store it in a dry and cool place. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures outside the -20 to 85C range as this may affect its high - resolution performance of 0.02C. Also, make sure the supply current stays around 1mA for proper operation.
