Product Details

Get your project revved up with these amazing toggle switches! This red LED toggle switch comes with an aerodynamic red protective casing and a red LED at the tip. It's a real eye - catcher that will add style and functionality to your project. You often see these on control panels. Now, you can mimic the look of a racing car, fighter jet, submarine status panel, or factory controls. They can control almost any accessory. With a maximum rated voltage of 12V and the LED lighting up at 3V, you can use it with lower voltages too. There's a '20 A' marking on the side, but we suggest a maximum of 1 - 2A. Wiring is a bit different from most toggle switches because it has an LED and only 3 pins. The anode of the LED is connected via a resistor to the pin with a 'headlamp' symbol. The cathode is connected to the ground - symbol pin sticking out the side. The switch connects and disconnects the (+) pin and the 'headlamp' pin. You have several wiring options. Use the toggle to connect and disconnect the bottom two pins to turn something on or off. Provide 3 - 12V between the ground and headlamp pin to keep the LED always on. Or, provide 3 - 12V on the (+) pin and connect ground to the ground pin to have the LED on only when the switch is connected. The protective cover automatically turns the switch off when closed, but you can remove it if you don't need it. Note that it doesn't come with the spade connectors used in the demo, just the switch itself.

Using this red illuminated toggle switch is easy. First, decide on your wiring option based on what you want the switch to do. If you want to turn something on or off, use the toggle to connect and disconnect the two pins on the bottom. To keep the LED always on, provide 3 - 12V between the ground and headlamp pin. For the LED to be on only when the switch is connected, provide 3 - 12V on the (+) pin and connect ground to the ground pin. Remember, although it says '20 A' on the side, we recommend using a maximum of 1 - 2A to ensure the switch's longevity. The protective cover is a nice addition as it can automatically turn the switch off when flipped closed. If you don't need it, simply remove it. Also, this switch doesn't come with spade connectors, so you'll need to get your own if you need them. As for maintenance, keep it clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture, which could damage the LED or the switch mechanism.
