This innovative IIC LCD Backpack supports the Gadgeteer interface (IDC10), enabling Gadgeteer users to interact with LCD160X. It's a small PCB that can be soldered to the back of an LCD, allowing control via an I2C bus. Based on the PCA8574, it reduces the number of pins needed (only 2 for I2C) while making it easy to interface with LCDs. Compatible with LCD1601, LCD1602, LCD1604, and LCD2004, it also offers adjustable contrast. The I2C address ranges from 0x20 - 0x27 (default 0x20), and it operates at a 5V supply voltage. With an 8 - bit quasi - bidirectional port, it can be used for general - purpose I/O expansion. The size is 40x20x10mm or 58x20x10mm (2.28x1.18x0.39'). Included in the package is the IIC LCD Backpack x1. Using the IIC LCD Backpack is quite straightforward. First, solder the backpack to the back of your compatible LCD, such as LCD1601, LCD1602, LCD1604, or LCD2004. Connect the IIC connector with VCC, GND, SCL, and SDA. Make sure to set the correct I2C address, with 0x20 as the default. You can adjust the contrast to get the best display effect. When powering it, use a 5V supply voltage. For advanced users, you can use it for general - purpose I/O expansion. Just keep in mind that it's important to handle the PCB carefully to avoid damage. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean environment. If you need to use it with an Arduino, refer to the provided sample code and library.
