Product Details

DFRobot has launched a cutting - edge wide - range Arduino infrared CO2 sensor. With an effective range from 0 to 50000ppm, it uses non - dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology, offering great selectivity and no oxygen dependency. It comes with temperature compensation and supports UART communication. This sensor is super user - friendly and works well with all microcontrollers having a UART port, such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. It has an impressive service life of over 5 years! Combining mature infrared absorption gas detection technology, precise optical circuit design, and sophisticated circuit design, this high - performance UART Infrared CO2 Sensor has many great features. It can detect a wide range, is highly sensitive and has high resolution, consumes low power, responds quickly, resists water vapor interference, won't be poisoned, and has high stability and a long lifespan. It's widely used in HVAC refrigeration, indoor air quality monitoring, industrial process and safety monitoring, and agricultural and animal husbandry production process monitoring. Besides this 0 - 50000ppm wide - range CO2 sensor with a UART communication port, we also offer a 0 - 5000 ppm high - precision infrared sensor with a Gravity Analog interface, which is even easier to use. Features include high sensitivity, high resolution, low power consumption, excellent stability, temperature compensation, excellent linear output, high cycle life, anti - water vapor interference, and no poisoning. It needs a 5V power supply even for 3.3V microcontrollers. Specifications cover gas detection (carbon dioxide), operating voltage (4.5 - 5.5V DC), average current (<85mA), output signal (UART/PWM/Analog, last two not developed), measuring range (0 - 50000ppm), accuracy (± (50ppm + 5% reading)), preheating time (3min), response time (T90 < 30s), operating temperature (0 - 50 °C), operating humidity (0 - 95% RH, no condensation), service life (>5 years), board dimension (21 * 27.11 mm/ 0.83 * 1.06 inches), and weight (42g). The shipping list includes a UART Infrared CO2 Sensor Probe (0 - 50000ppm), a Sensor Converter Board, a 6 - Pin Sensor Cable, a PH2.0 Gravity UART Cable, and an XH2.54 4 - Pin header.

Using this UART Infrared CO2 Sensor is a breeze. First, connect it to a microcontroller with a UART port, like Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Make sure to use a 5V power supply, even if your microcontroller is 3.3V. After powering on, wait for 3 minutes for the preheating process. Once preheated, the sensor will start detecting carbon dioxide in the air. It will give you an output through the UART communication mode. When it comes to accuracy, keep in mind that the measurement has an error of ± (50ppm + 5% reading). As for the environment, it can work in temperatures from 0 to 50 °C and humidity from 0 to 95% RH as long as there's no condensation. To maintain the sensor, keep it in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to water or other corrosive substances. With proper use, this sensor can serve you for more than 5 years.
