Product Details

The LIS2DW12 is an amazing ultra-low-power, high-performance three-axis linear accelerometer. You can easily select full scales from ±2g to ±16g according to your needs. It can measure accelerations with output data rates ranging from 1.6 Hz to 1600 Hz. This sensor comes with two independent programmable interrupts and a special internal engine. It can detect various motions and accelerations, such as free-fall, portrait/landscape, 6D/4D orientation, single/double-tap, stationary/motion, and wake-up for smart power saving. We also offer sample programs for these functions for your convenience. Features include a user-selectable scale of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g, 16-bit data output, an easy-to-use Gravity interface that doesn't require soldering, and the ability to change the I2C address via a toggle switch. Specifications cover an operating voltage of 3.3V - 5V, an operating current of 8 - 10uA in low-power & low-noise mode or 0.12mA in high-performance mode, a Gravity-I2C interface, an I2C address of 0x19 (default) or 0x18 (optional), an operating temperature of -40°C - +85°C, a frequency of 1.6Hz - 1600Hz, ultra-low noise of 1.3mgRMS in low-power mode, 16-bit data output, a 32-level FIFO buffer zone, a sleep-to-wake-up function, 10000g high shock survivability, compliance with ECOPACK, RoHS and 'Green' standards, a module size of 27*27mm/1.06*1.06, and a mounting hole size of inner 3.1mm/outer 6mm. There are also product wiki documents available. The shipping list includes one Gravity I2C LIS2DW12 Three-Axis Accelerometer Sensor and one Gravity-4P I2C/UART Sensor Connector.

Using the Gravity I2C LIS2DW12 Three-Axis Accelerometer Sensor is quite straightforward. First, connect it to your device using the provided Gravity-4P I2C/UART Sensor Connector. You don't need to solder, thanks to the easy-to-use Gravity interface. Then, you can select the appropriate scale (±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g) according to your application requirements. You can also change the I2C address using the toggle switch if needed. When it comes to power, make sure to supply an operating voltage between 3.3V and 5V. The sensor has different operating current modes, so choose the one that suits your power consumption needs. For the output data, you'll get 16-bit data output at a frequency between 1.6Hz and 1600Hz. As for motion and acceleration detection functions, like free-fall or single/double-tap recognition, you can use the sample programs we provide to quickly implement them. Now, some important notes. Keep the operating temperature between -40°C and +85°C. Although the sensor has 10000g high shock survivability, try to avoid strong impacts. When storing the sensor, keep it in a dry and clean environment. Also, make sure the mounting holes are used correctly for a stable installation. Maintenance is easy. Just keep the sensor clean and free from dust. If you encounter any problems, refer to the product wiki for more information.
