GEMMA Talking Toy Guts Sound Pack

Transform your stuffed toy into a chirping, meowing, or woofing companion! This GEMMA parts pack is a breeze to use, allowing you to easily add simple sounds to any plush toy. It's especially great for the Sew-Your-Own Owl Kit (not included). A tilt ball switch triggers GEMMA to play a sound of your choice (or you can write your own) through a small speaker, amplified by a transistor. Here's what's included: 1x Adafruit Gemma V2, 1x 3.7v 150mAh LiPoly Battery, 1x Tilt Ball Switch, 1x Adafruit Micro Lipo - USB LiIon/LiPoly charger - v1, 1x PN2222 Transistor (check out our 10-pack for more info), 1x Small Speaker, 1x 220-ohm Resistor, 24' length of solid-core wire, and three pieces of different sized heat shrink (1/4', 1/8', and 1/16' in diameter). Note: This kit doesn't come with the plushie owl. We have a separate kit for that. You can also use a stuffed toy you already have at home. You'll need a MicroB USB cable, which you probably own or can buy here. Some soldering is required, but it's a fun weekend project and a great way to learn basic electronic assembly. Using this GEMMA Talking Toy Guts Sound Pack is a lot of fun. First, gather your plush toy and the MicroB USB cable. Then, start by connecting the parts according to the basic electronic assembly principles shown in the tutorial. The tilt ball switch is the key - when you tilt the toy, it will trigger GEMMA to play sounds. You can choose from pre - set sounds or write your own. Remember, this kit doesn't include the plushie owl, so use one you have at home or get our separate kit. Also, some soldering is involved, so take your time and be careful. As for maintenance, keep the battery charged and store the parts in a dry place. If you're using the heat shrink, make sure it fits properly over the wires. Have a great time customizing your toy!
