Product Details

The DFRobot FireBeetle series is a low-power development component tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT). This 2.13-inch FireBeetle Covers ePaper Black-White-Red Display Module (SPI) comes with a 212x104 resolution electronic ink screen and an SPI interface. It supports Arduino library and microPython programming, making it a great fit for the current main control boards of the FireBeetle series. With small size, compact layout, and a plug-and-play design, it offers low power consumption and excellent display quality. It integrates the GT30L24A3W foreign language font chip, providing better display compared to traditional electronic ink screens. However, its refresh speed is relatively slow (at least 12s), suitable only for static pictures or text, not for dynamic refresh. Note that this board works only with ESP32 and ESP8266, not FireBeetle BLE4.1. Specification includes an input voltage of 3.3V, with various character sets and sizes supported. The ink screen GDEW0213Z16 has a SPI data bus, black-white-red color, and a refresh time of 12 - 15s. Documents such as product wiki and more are available.

Using this FireBeetle ePaper display module is quite straightforward. First, make sure you have an ESP32 or ESP8266 main - control board as it won't work with FireBeetle BLE4.1. Just plug the module into the compatible board, and it's ready to go. You can use Arduino library or microPython programming to display content on the 2.13 - inch screen. Remember, this module is best for showing static pictures or text because its refresh speed is slow. Don't expect to use it for dynamic content. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean environment. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or physical impacts. And when powering it, always use a 3.3V input voltage to ensure proper operation.
