Button Pad 2x2 - LED Compatible

This is a cool translucent silicon rubber button pad with 4 buttons, inspired by the folks at monome.org. Each button has a hole below that can fit either a 3mm or 5mm standard LED. You can create your own button interface and display simple colors under each button. We aimed to use our tri - color LEDs to make a full RGB color for every button. Each button has a conductive circle backing to form a switch with exposed PCB traces. The button activation force is between 190 and 210 grams, giving a nice tactile feel similar to your TV remote. Documents include a dimensional drawing (2x2 section only) and material data.

Using this button pad is easy. First, you can insert either 3mm or 5mm standard LEDs into the holes under each button. Then, connect the buttons to the exposed PCB traces through the conductive circle backing. This way, you can create your unique button interface and display simple colors or full RGB colors under each button. When handling the button pad, be gentle as it's made of silicon rubber. Avoid using sharp objects that could damage it. To clean, use a soft, dry cloth. If it gets dirty, you can use a mild soap and water solution, but make sure to dry it thoroughly afterwards.
