Product Details

This adorable small display breakout is an excellent choice for adding a vibrant, bright, and compact display to any project. Using 4-wire SPI for communication and featuring its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, it's compatible with all kinds of microcontrollers, even those with limited memory and few pins! The 2.2-inch display boasts 320x240 color pixels. Unlike low-cost CSTN displays like the 'Nokia 6110' with poor color and slow refresh, this is a true TFT display. The TFT driver (ILI9340 or compatible) can show full 18-bit color, offering 262,144 shades! And it always comes with the same driver chip, so you don't have to worry about code compatibility. The breakout has the TFT display soldered on via a delicate flex-circuit connector. It also includes an ultra-low-dropout 3.3V regulator and a 3/5V level shifter, allowing you to use it with 3.3V or 5V power and logic. There's a microSD card holder, too, enabling you to easily load full-color bitmaps from a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card (not included). We've written a full open-source graphics library with example code that can draw pixels, lines, rectangles, circles, text, and bitmaps. The code is for Arduino but can be easily ported. Wiring is simple; we recommend using the hardware SPI pins of your Arduino as software SPI is slower for this display size. Check the example sketches for wiring help until we have a detailed tutorial.

Using this 2.2-inch TFT LCD display is a breeze. First, connect it to your microcontroller. You can use either 3.3V or 5V power and logic thanks to the built - in regulator and level shifter. If you want to display full - color bitmaps, insert a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card into the holder. The provided open - source graphics library makes it easy to draw different shapes and text on the screen. Just use the example code as a starting point and modify it according to your needs. When wiring, it's best to use the hardware SPI pins of your Arduino for faster performance. As for maintenance, keep the display away from excessive heat, moisture, and static electricity. If you notice any issues, check the connections first. Also, handle the delicate flex - circuit connector with care when installing or removing the display.
