But our 16x8 backpack uses a HT16K33 driver chip that does all the hard work for you. It has a built - in clock, multiplexes the display, and uses constant - current drivers for ultra - bright, consistent green color. You can even dim the display in 1/16 steps via a simple I2C interface. Each backpack comes with three address - selection jumpers, allowing you to connect up to 8 x 1.2" 16x8's on a single I2C bus. This kit includes a fully tested and assembled 16x8 1.2" LED Backpack, 2 ultra - bright round 8x8 pure - green matrices, and a 4 - pin header.
