The Pimoroni Picade Console Controller is a super - cool, retro - styled arcade controller made for your Raspberry Pi. It comes as a kit that you can assemble at home. All the parts, panels, and components are included, but you'll need to provide your own Raspberry Pi. We strongly suggest using a Raspberry Pi 3 because its extra processing power delivers excellent performance in many emulators. This is the console - controller version of the Pimoroni Picade. We also have a desktop arcade cabinet version with a screen and the Picade PCB alone. The panels are powder - coated black, making the final product look and feel high - quality. The chassis works great as a sounding board for the included speakers, giving that authentic retro sound. In our example, we used a 10.1' 1366x768 HDMI Display IPS. It takes about an hour to build. There aren't full console - specific instructions yet (they're coming soon), but you can find general instructions and a build video under the Picade Cabinet instructions. You only need a cross - head (pozi) screwdriver and a small flat - head for the Picade PCB screw terminals. Please note: The Raspberry Pi is not included. Picade is compatible with Raspberry 3, 2, B+, and A+. We recommend Raspberry Pi 3 for its greater power. You'll also need a good 2A power supply. Check the Pimoroni website for more details. Shipping weight follows UPS' new dimensional weight regulations.

Using the Pimoroni Picade Console Controller is easy. First, you need to build it at home. Assembling the kit takes around an hour. You'll only need a cross - head (pozi) screwdriver and a small flat - head for the Picade PCB screw terminals. Don't forget, you have to provide your own Raspberry Pi. We suggest using a Raspberry Pi 3 as it offers better performance. Make sure you also have a good 2A power supply. For the build, if there are no full console - specific instructions yet, you can refer to the general Picade Cabinet instructions and the build video. When it comes to maintenance, keep the controller in a dry place. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth if it gets dirty. The powder - coated black panels are durable, but try to avoid scratching them. If you have any other questions, check the Pimoroni website for more information.
