Once upon a time, there was Inky pHAT, Pimoroni's trio of eInk bonnets. Now, Pimoroni has upgraded to a magnificent 4.2-inch electronic paper display! Meet the Inky wHAT! It offers 5 times more pixels (400x300) for use as an e-reader or a weather display/calendar. It comes fully assembled, so no soldering is needed. The display is firmly attached to the Inky wHAT and connected via a ribbon cable. Simply place the Inky wHAT on your Pi and run the installer to set it up. Pimoroni's engineers added useful pins on the back, like I2C and SPI, allowing you to connect extra devices and show their data on the display. Refreshing the display takes about 25 seconds. The Inky wHAT is compatible with any 40-pin Pi, including Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. Features include a 4.2-inch EPD display (400x300 pixels), a 40-pin female header for Pi B+, 2, 3, 3B+, standoffs for secure attachment, additional pins, Inky wHAT pinout, compatibility with various Raspberry Pi models, a Python library, and it comes fully assembled. Note: The Inky wHAT display is made of glass, so it's fragile. Be gentle and grip the board's edges when fitting it.

Using the Inky wHAT is easy. First, place it on your compatible Raspberry Pi. Then, run the provided installer to get everything set up. You can use it as an e-reader or for showing weather or calendar information. When connecting additional devices, use the I2C and SPI pins on the back. Remember, refreshing the display takes about 25 seconds. As for maintenance, the display is made of glass, so it's very fragile. Don't press too hard on it or it might crack. When you're fitting the wHAT on the Pi, hold it by the edges of the board instead of pressing on the top. This will help keep your Inky wHAT in good condition for a long time.
