Photon
Meet Photon, the world's first robot that evolves alongside its owner. It's the most advanced educational robot out there, packed with 10 programmable sensors. There's also a great story - based mobile app available for both iOS and Android devices.
Photon’s Capabilities
1. Light Detection: It can sense light intensity and tell if it's dark or bright.
2. Touch Detection: Responds to touch or the lack of it.
3. Obstacle Detection: Detects obstacles up to 100cm ahead with 1 - cm accuracy.
4. Robot - to - Robot Communication: Photons can talk to each other.
5. Distance Measurement: Keeps track of how many centimetres it has traveled.
6. Rotation Angle Measurement: Turns at a given angle with 1 - degree accuracy.
7. Magnetic Accessory Mounts: Special magnetic accessories expand its abilities.
8. LED Backlight: Changes the color of its antennas and eyes on its own.
9. Unique Sounds: Plays its own sounds and those recorded by a child via the app.
10. Sound Detection: Reacts to loud sounds like claps, stamps, or screams.
11. Ground Contrast Detection: Uses four contrast sensors to detect if the ground it moves on is white or black.
12. Route Mapping: Follows a programmed route sequence while reacting to the environment.
Using the Photon robot is a breeze. First, download the mobile app from either the iOS App Store or Google Play. Connect the robot to the app via Bluetooth. You can start programming the sensors right away. To use the light detection feature, just place the robot in different lighting conditions and see how it reacts. For touch detection, simply touch or leave it untouched. When it comes to obstacle detection, put some objects in front of it within 100cm to test. For communication, connect multiple Photon robots to the app and watch them interact. To measure distance and rotation, program a path and let it move. You can attach magnetic accessories to enhance its capabilities. The LED backlight and sound features add to the fun. Just use the app to record sounds or change the colors. As for ground contrast detection, place it on white or black surfaces. And for route mapping, program a sequence and it will follow it while reacting to the environment. When not in use, store it in a dry and cool place. Keep the battery charged regularly. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. Clean it gently with a soft cloth if it gets dirty.
