Product Details

Meet these super - cute Mini NeoPixel RGB LEDs! Craft your own smart LED setup using the same integrated LEDs found in our NeoPixel strips and pixels. These tiny (3.5mm x 3.5mm) RGB LEDs are a breeze to solder and are half the size of the common 5x5mm NeoPixels. They're the most space - efficient way to add multiple bright LEDs to your design. The built - in driver chip has a constant current drive, ensuring consistent color even when the voltage changes, and no need for external choke resistors. This pack contains 10 NeoPixel Mini RGB LEDs with a black casing, and we also have white - cased ones. These LEDs are chainable. Just connect the output of one chip to the input of another. They operate with a single data line and a timing - specific protocol, so you'll need a real - time microcontroller like an AVR, Arduino, PIC, or mbed. They won't work with Linux - based microcomputers or interpreted microcontrollers. They have a WS2811 inside, set at 800KHz high - speed. Our Arduino Neopixel library supports these pixels. An 8MHz or faster processor is required. These raw LEDs are cut from a reel and might be loose, so they're not ideal for pick & place and reflow due to their sensitivity to moisture and temperature. We recommend careful hand - soldering only. They come in a pack of 10, and there's a ready - to - go component in the Adafruit EAGLE library.

Using these NeoPixel Mini RGB LEDs is quite easy. First, make sure you have a real - time microcontroller like an AVR, Arduino, PIC, or mbed as these LEDs need it to work. An 8MHz or faster processor is also necessary. To connect the LEDs, just link the output of one chip to the input of another one. Our Arduino Neopixel library can support these pixels, so it can make programming easier. When it comes to soldering, since these LEDs are small and cut from a reel and might be loose, we suggest you do careful hand - soldering. They are very sensitive to moisture and temperature, so avoid using them in pick & place and reflow processes. Store them in a dry and cool place to maintain their performance. If you want to use them in a design, check out the ready - to - go component in the Adafruit EAGLE library for a head - start.
