Product Details

Step into the spotlight with the NeoPixel Jewel! This elegant circular PCB board features seven tiny 5mm x 5mm smart RGB LEDs. With mounting holes and a chainable design, it's perfect for evening wear and creative lighting projects. Control multiple Jewels with just one microcontroller pin. Each LED has its own driver chip, making them individually addressable. They offer consistent color with ~18mA constant current drive, even when the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are needed. Power it with 5VDC and you're all set. Connect the output of one Jewel to the input of another to chain them together. The single data line follows a timing - specific protocol, so you'll need a real - time microcontroller like an AVR, Arduino, PIC, or mbed. Our well - written Neopixel library for Arduino supports these pixels. An 8MHz or faster processor is required. It comes as a single round board with 7 individually addressable RGB LEDs, already assembled and tested. Our detailed NeoPixel Uberguide has all the resources you need for using NeoPixels in any project, including ready - to - go library and example code for various Arduino models.

Using the NeoPixel Jewel is easy! First, connect it to a 5VDC power source. To control the LEDs, you'll need a real - time microcontroller like an Arduino. Just use one pin on the microcontroller to manage as many Jewels as you chain together. You can connect the output of one Jewel to the input of another to expand your lighting setup. When using the NeoPixel Jewel, keep in mind that it requires an 8MHz or faster processor. Also, it won't work with Linux - based microcomputers or interpreted microcontrollers like the netduino or Basic Stamp. For programming, use our Neopixel library for Arduino. It's a great resource for getting your project up and running. As for maintenance, make sure to keep the board clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you have any issues, refer to our detailed NeoPixel Uberguide, which has all the information you need to troubleshoot and make the most of your NeoPixel Jewel.
