Using this cable is easy. First, find the hackport on your iRobot Create 2 and connect the 7 - pin Mini - DIN connector to it. Then, connect the other end to your Arduino or the 5V TTL UART microcontroller. You can use the internal battery of the Create 2 to power your project, but be careful as the battery voltage can be high. It's a good idea to use a buck converter to get a more stable 5V power supply. When it comes to maintenance, keep the cable away from sharp objects and excessive heat. Store it in a dry place when not in use. If you notice any damage to the cable, stop using it immediately. Also, always refer to the Create 2 Open Interface Specification for more detailed information about the cable and pin usage.
