Ordinary buttons and switches are one thing, but these translucent arcade buttons are truly special. They come with built - in LEDs! That means when you press these buttons, you'll be surrounded by a beautiful glow. These buttons are the same size as common miniature arcade controls and need a 24mm diameter hole for installation, so they're often called 24mm diameter buttons.

They're easy to install by screwing them in. You can use them on materials up to about 15mm thick, and they'll cover up any imperfections if the hole isn't perfectly round. The button action is smooth, with no loud click, but you can clearly feel when it's pressed. A pre - installed tiny micro - switch has gold - plated contacts. Even when not lit, they look great with a crystal - like translucent and glossy appearance. There are two surface - mount LEDs with resistors inside the button body. There are two extra contacts next to the switch contacts to power and control the LEDs. The two LEDs are connected in parallel with about 1K resistors each. You can power the LEDs from a microcontroller pin or directly from 5V (like USB) with a 10mA draw. You can also use 3.3V power, but each button will draw only 2mA and will be dimmer.

This is the Translucent Blue version of our Mini 24mm LED arcade buttons.

Using these 24mm Translucent Blue Mini LED Arcade Buttons is easy. First, make a 24mm diameter hole in your material, which can be up to about 15mm thick. Then, screw the button into place. When pressing the button, you'll notice a smooth action. You can power the built - in LEDs from a microcontroller pin or directly from 5V like USB. If you use 3.3V, the LEDs will be dimmer. When not in use, keep the buttons in a dry place to avoid damage. If they get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth.
