Product Details

In a great collaboration between Microsoft, Hackster.io, and Adafruit, we're excited to present a fantastic Virtual IoT pack! This pack comes with a variety of boards, sensors, and many useful components. It's specially curated for the IoT Virtual Bootcamp jointly hosted by Microsoft, Hackster.io, and Adafruit. The pack includes a pre - soldered Adafruit Feather HUZZAH with ESP8266 WiFi, which is an ideal starting point for your IoT adventure. The Adafruit Feather is a super - cool development board. Just like its name suggests, it's thin, light, and ready to 'fly' you into the world of IoT. We designed it to be a new standard for portable microcontroller cores. The Adafruit Feather HUZZAH ESP8266 in this pack is an 'all - in - one' ESP8266 WiFi development board. It has built - in USB and battery charging features. It's an ESP8266 WiFi module with all the extras you need, and it's raring to go! At the heart of the Feather HUZZAH is an ESP8266 WiFi microcontroller running at 80 MHz and 3.3V logic. It has a Tensilica chip core and a full WiFi stack. You can easily program it using the Arduino IDE for a smooth - running Internet of Things core. We've also wired up a USB - Serial chip that can upload code at a super - fast 921600 baud, reducing your development time. And it has an auto - reset feature, so you don't have to fiddle with pins and reset buttons. For setting up your Feather HUZZAH, check out our learn guide. In addition to the great Feather features, this pack also includes everything from our Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Starter Pack, further expanding your IoT ecosystem. Note: The jumper wires in this pack may be 3', 6', or 12' long. The kit includes: - 1x Assembled Adafruit Feather HUZZAH ESP8266 WiFi - 1x Micro Servo - 1x PIR (motion) Sensor - 1x USB Cable - A/Micro B - 1x Fast Vibration Switch - 1x Magnetic Contact Switch (door sensor) - 2x AM2302 (wired DHT22) temperature - humidity sensor - 1x Full - sized Breadboard - 1x Premium Male/Male Jumper Wires - 40 x 12' (300mm) - 1x Raspberry Pi 3 - Model B - ARMv8 with 1G RAM - 1x Adafruit Raspberry Pi B+ / Pi 2 / Pi 3 Case - Smoke Base - 1x Assembled Pi Cobbler Plus - Breakout Cable - 1x USB to TTL Serial Cable - Debug / Console Cable for Raspberry Pi - 1x 8 GB MicroSD Card with full PIXEL desktop NOOBS - v2.4 - 1x 5V 2.4A Switching Power Supply with 20AWG MicroUSB Cable - 1x Raspberry Pi - Skill badge, iron - on patch - 1x Premium Female/Female Jumper Wires - 20 x 6' (150mm) - 1x Premium Female/Male 'Extension' Jumper Wires - 20 x 6' (300mm) - 1x Premium Male/Male Jumper Wires - 20 x 3' (75mm) - 1x SD/MicroSD Memory Card (8 GB SDHC) - 1x Slim HDMI Cable - 450mm / 1.5 feet long - 1x USB MicroSD Card Reader/Writer - microSD / microSDHC / microSDXC - 1x HDMI 7' 800x480 Display Backpack - Without Touch Component bags contain: - 6x 12mm Tactile Switches - 1x Breadboard Trim Potentiometer 10K - 2x Diffused 10mm Green LED - 2x Diffused 10mm Red LED - 1x Diffused 10mm Blue LED - 1x Diffused RGB (tri - color) LED - 10x 10K 5% 1/4W Resistor - 10x 560 Ohm 5% 1/4W Resistor - 1x Electrolytic Capacitor - 1.0uF - 1x Piezo Buzzer - 2x Photo Cell Light Sensor - 1x Breadboard - friendly SPDT Slide Switch This kit includes a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B! For a version without a Pi 3, click here. Note: Participants in the IoT Virtual Bootcamp should have their own keyboard and mouse, as these are not included in the kit.

Using this IoT pack is a breeze! First, set up your Raspberry Pi 3. Insert the 8GB MicroSD Card with NOOBS into the Pi, connect it to a power source using the 5V 2.4A Switching Power Supply, and then connect it to a display with the Slim HDMI Cable. For the Adafruit Feather HUZZAH, if you're new to programming, use the Arduino IDE to start coding. The USB - Serial chip makes uploading code super fast. When connecting components, use the jumper wires as needed. Just match the male and female ends correctly. You can connect sensors like the PIR motion sensor or the temperature - humidity sensor to the Feather or the Raspberry Pi to start collecting data. Some important notes: The jumper wires come in different lengths, so choose the one that suits your setup. And remember, the IoT Virtual Bootcamp kit doesn't include a keyboard and mouse, so you'll need to use your own. For maintenance, keep the components in a dry and clean place. Don't expose them to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you're not using the Raspberry Pi for a while, remove the power source to avoid any potential damage. If you have any issues setting up the Feather HUZZAH, check out our learn guide for detailed instructions.
