This is a special two-cell AAA battery holder designed just for the BBC micro:bit. It comes with a 6-foot (about 150mm) cable that ends with a JST-PH connector. The connector fits the JST socket on the micro:bit perfectly, making it super easy to power your project with batteries. Just note that JST connectors aren't ideal for constant and repeated plugging and unplugging, as they may wear out over time.

Using this battery holder is a breeze. First, insert two AAA batteries into the holder. Then, connect the JST-PH connector at the end of the 6-foot cable to the JST socket on your BBC micro:bit. Your project will now run on battery power. When it comes to maintenance, make sure to keep the battery holder clean and dry. Also, don't forget that the JST connectors aren't built for constant in-and-out action. Try to limit the number of times you plug and unplug them to avoid wearing them out. If you notice any signs of wear on the connectors, it might be time to replace the battery holder.
