Product Details

As technology evolves, Adafruit keeps up. This adapter features a Micro B USB jack and a USB C plug. USB C is the new industry - standard for data and power transmission. Just like Lightning and MagSafe cables, it has no up - down orientation. You probably have many micro B cables and power supplies. Instead of tossing them out, up - cycle them! Simply attach this adapter to the end of a micro B cable, and it becomes a USB C cable. It works perfectly with any USB C - port device, especially the Raspberry Pi 4, allowing you to keep using our durable 2.5A 5V power plugs. Note that if you're using a USB 2.x port, it won't provide USB C speeds, and it can't handle power negotiation as your computer lacks the built - in function. It's designed for devices using 5V up to 2.5A.

Using this adapter is easy. Just plug one end of the adapter into your micro B cable and the other end into a device with a USB C port. You can use it with various devices, like the Raspberry Pi 4, to keep using your existing 2.5A 5V power plugs. Here are some things to keep in mind. If your device has a USB 2.x port, don't expect USB C speeds. Also, since your computer doesn't have the power negotiation feature built - in, this adapter won't offer that function. It's only for devices that use 5V and up to 2.5A. To maintain this adapter, keep it in a dry place and avoid bending or pulling the cables too hard. When not in use, store it safely to prevent damage.
