We're thrilled to announce that Little Bird is hosting an mBot workshop in Sydney! In this workshop, you'll not only gain valuable maker knowledge but also get to keep an mBot Robot. The workshop will be held at Hornsby Library - 28 - 44 George St, Hornsby NSW 2077 on Sunday, 13th August 2017, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Our all - day class will cover a range of topics including getting Scratch (mBlock) on your computer, using Scratch software, creating and uploading your first program, motor control, moving the mBot, reading from sensors, outputting to LEDs and more. There'll even be an mBot football game! This class is mainly for teachers using mBot in the classroom, but anyone interested in the mBot robot is welcome. You'll need to bring a Windows or Mac OS X laptop with Wi - Fi and admin privileges, its power supply, a power - strip, and some money for food or a packed lunch.

To make the most of the mBot workshop, here's a guide for you. First, before coming to the workshop, make sure your laptop meets the requirements. It should run on Windows or Mac OS X, have Wi - Fi, and you should have admin privileges. Bring the power supply and a power - strip to keep your laptop charged. During the workshop, follow the instructor's guidance to install Scratch (mBlock) on your computer. When using the software to create and upload programs, take your time and ask the instructor if you have any questions. When it comes to controlling the mBot, start with simple motor control and then gradually move on to more complex tasks like reading from sensors. After the workshop, if you want to continue using your mBot at home, keep it in a dry and clean place. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures or moisture. And remember, have fun exploring the world of mBot programming!
