The JetBot Chassis Kit V2 is the go - to chassis for the SparkFun JetBot AI Kit, and it's also super versatile for various robotics platforms. The chassis plates are crafted from 3.5mm thick ABS plastic. It has numerous pre - milled mounting points for sensors, servos, controllers, and power sources. Assembling this chassis is a breeze! With just a few provided screws, you'll quickly have a reliable 2WD robotics chassis, making it a cost - effective choice for desktop robots. This kit comes with two motors, two wheels, frames, a ball caster, and all the necessary assembly materials like screws and standoffs. There are also components for an optional camera mount. Note that the kit doesn't include a motor controller or a power source; you'll need to buy them separately. Basic tools and assembly are required. What's included: 2 base plates, 4 motor mounts, 2 wheels, 2 motors, 1 camera mount (fits two cameras), 1 ball caster, and all the hardware for assembly. A Phillips head screwdriver is not included. Compared to the original Jetson Chassis Kit (V1), the V2 can hold 2 cameras, which is in line with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit (V3). It also has specifically spaced mounting holes for the Jetson Nano Dev kit (4GB & 2GB), making the camera ribbon connector on the Dev Board closer to the camera mount on the chassis. This not only simplifies assembly but also extends the lifespan of the camera connector. You'll also get an Assembly Guide with the kit.
Using the JetBot Chassis Kit V2 is straightforward. First, gather all the parts included in the kit. You'll need to buy a motor controller and a power source separately. Use the provided screws and standoffs to assemble the base plates, motor mounts, wheels, and motors. If you want to add a camera, use the optional camera mount components. When it comes to assembly, having a Phillips head screwdriver on hand is essential (it's not included in the kit). As for maintenance, keep the chassis clean from dust and debris.
