Product Details
The Inline DC Panel Meter Kit is a must - have for anyone wanting to create a sleek and seamless DC volt/ameter. Measuring current usually involves interrupting the circuit, often by cutting wires. But with our 'inline' design, there's no need for cutting. Just plug your wall wart into the kit and then connect the kit to your target device. It's incredibly useful for measuring various 12V devices like routers and WiFi APs, with a capacity of up to 10 amps. DC Panel Meters offer an instant view of a device's voltage and current requirements. We understand the struggle of finding a suitable panel to mount the meter. That's why we designed three PCBs to act as the panel, with ample space below the display. If you're handy with a soldering iron and a screwdriver, you can assemble this kit in under 10 minutes. As a SparkX product, here are some key points: First, we designed the PCB for maximum current capacity and removed thermals. So, solder joints will take more time to heat, just be patient. Second, the white wire from the display should be connected to the pin labeled 'Ylw' as our supplier changed the wire colors. Third, you'll get 8 extra screws and 12 extra stand - offs. And fourth, you can find a dead wall wart; the output has screw terminals, allowing you to attach a cable with the required barrel connector. The kit comes with a DC Barrel Jack, but the input footprint also supports a 2 - Pin screw terminal. SparkX products are not regularly produced, so grab them while you can! Remember, SparkX products are experimental. They're tested but come with no guarantees, and live technical support is not available. Visit our forum for help. The kit includes 1 DC Meter, 2 Frame PCBs, 1 Main PCB, 20 1/4' screws (12 used), 10 3/4' stand - offs (4 used), 10 3/8' stand - offs (4 used), 1 5.5mm DC Barrel Jack, and 1 5mm 2 - Pin Screw Terminal. You can also access the Hardware Repo for more details.
Using the Inline DC Panel Meter Kit is super easy. First, find a dead wall wart. Cut off the 5' barrel cable, strip and tin the internal stranded wire, and then attach it to the screw terminals on the kit. Next, plug your wall wart into the kit and connect the kit to your target 12V device like a router or WiFi AP. When it comes to assembly, if you're good with a soldering iron and a screwdriver, you can put the kit together in less than 10 minutes. Just use the included screws and stand - offs to attach the PCBs. There are some important things to note. Since we designed the PCB for maximum current capacity and removed thermals, solder joints will take longer to heat. Be patient during soldering. Also, the white wire from the display should be connected to the pin labeled 'Ylw' because the supplier changed the wire colors. For maintenance, keep the kit in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you have any questions, head over to our forum for support. Remember, SparkX products are experimental, so while they're tested, there are no guarantees.
