This 2x16 (32 pin - 0.1 spaced) IDC breadboard helper is a fantastic addition when used with 32-pin IDC cables. It consists of two parts: a 'pin-through' socket and a male header. The socket fits across the center of a breadboard or Perma-Proto, and then the header plugs into the top of the socket. IDC cables are very common, but they can be a hassle to use with breadboards. This helper is an affordable and effective solution for prototyping. It works best when soldered in place. We've used it on a solderless breadboard, but some customers say their breadboards don't work well with the shorter pins, so your experience may vary. Each order includes one socket and one header. Note that the breadboard, Perma Proto, and IDC cable are not included. We also offer helpers for 2x20 pins, 2x13 pins, 2x8 pins, 2x5 pins, and 2x3 pins.

Using this IDC breadboard helper is easy. First, place the 'pin-through' socket across the center of your breadboard or Perma-Proto. Then, simply plug the male header into the top of the socket. For the best performance, it's recommended to solder the helper in place. However, you can also use it on a solderless breadboard, though some breadboards may not work well with the shorter pins. When handling the helper, be gentle to avoid bending the pins. If you're not using it, store it in a dry and clean place to prevent any damage. Remember, each order only comes with one socket and one header, so you'll need to provide your own breadboard, Perma Proto, and IDC cable.
