Product Details

Get a high-resolution, high-speed 4.0-inch TFT display for your Raspberry Pi. It offers an optional capacitive multi-touch feature! HyperPixel 4.0 is a great solution to use your Pi without a lot of cables or a large display. Design your own interface to manage your project, show data, or turn your Pi into a mini media center. This new version of HyperPixel has a beautiful IPS display with wide viewing angles (160°). The touch version comes with custom-made cover glass, and there's an alternate I2C interface for advanced users. You can choose between touch and non-touch versions based on your preference. The display images on this page are real, showing the Raspbian desktop with our HyperPixel wallpaper! It has a high-speed DPI interface, 800x480 pixels (~235 PPI), 18-bit color (262,144 colors), and a 60 FPS frame rate. The contrast ratio is 500:1. The touch version has a sensitive and responsive capacitive multi-touch display. Everything is fully assembled, no soldering needed. Just place HyperPixel 4.0 on your Pi and run our one-line installer. It's compatible with Raspberry Pi 3B+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, and Zero W. Use the included 40-pin female header for larger Pis, and the standoff kit to securely attach it. Our one-line installer configures your Pi and enables the touch screen on the touch version. Open a terminal and type 'curl https://get.pimoroni.com/hyperpixel4 | bash'. Note that our software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy. Dimensions: 58.5x97x12mm (WxHxD, depth includes header and display).

Using your HyperPixel 4.0 is easy! First, decide if you want the touch or non - touch version. If you're using it with a larger Raspberry Pi like B+, 2, 3, or 3B+, use the included 40 - pin female header to get the right height. For Pi Zero or Pi Zero W, just pop it directly onto the GPIO. When attaching it to your Pi, hold the board by its edges and wiggle it to connect with the extended header or GPIO. Make sure not to press down on the screen surface. After attaching, run the one - line installer. Open a terminal and type 'curl https://get.pimoroni.com/hyperpixel4 | bash'. If you're using the touch version, this will also enable the touch screen. You'll need another display, keyboard, and mouse to install the software, or you can do it remotely over SSH following our headless setup guide. Remember, our software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy. For maintenance, keep the display clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. With these steps, you'll enjoy your HyperPixel 4.0 for a long time.
