Product Details

Ever wished you could be a dolphin, effortlessly swimming through water and using echolocation to find food? Until genetic engineering makes that a reality, you can use these super handy HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sonar Distance Sensors. They're a must - have in robotics projects, but are also great for automation, interactive art, and motion sensing. These sensors work effectively from about 2cm to 400cm, though the sweet spot is between 10cm and 250cm. They're fast, easy to operate, and budget - friendly. For optimal performance, power them with 5V by connecting GND (ground) and VCC to 5V power. The Trig signal can be either 3V or 5V, but the Echo signal is 5V logic. That's why we include two 10K resistors to convert the 5V logic level to a safe 2.5V for your 3V device. You can use this sensor with Arduino, CircuitPython (for microcontrollers or Raspberry Pi), or MakeCode. If this sensor isn't right for you, we have a wide range of other distance sensors.

Using this HC - SR04 Ultrasonic Sonar Distance Sensor is a breeze. First, connect GND and VCC to a 5V power source for the best results. When it comes to the Trig and Echo signals, the Trig can be either 3V or 5V, but remember the Echo signal is 5V logic. Use the two 10K resistors we provided to convert the 5V logic to 2.5V so it's safe for your 3V device. You can pair this sensor with Arduino, CircuitPython for microcontrollers or Raspberry Pi, or MakeCode. As for the working distance, you'll get the best performance between 10cm and 250cm, though it can work from 2cm to 400cm. Keep it away from water and extreme temperatures. If it gets dirty, use a dry cloth to gently wipe it clean. And if you're not sure it's working, double - check your connections first.
