Product Details

The BT - 147 is an outstanding GNSS/GPS antenna that can receive L1/L2 bands from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou constellations. These 'UFO' antennas offer amazing performance for the price. It has a built - in ground plane with effective filtering and amplification of L1 and L2 frequencies for all relevant satellites. Ideal for surveying or fixed antenna setups. If your application can handle its size and weight, the BT - 147 is the top - notch antenna we've tested so far. For automotive use, check out our u - blox ANN - MB - 00 GNSS antenna. For weight - sensitive applications like RTK Drones, consider the BT - 560 helical GNSS antenna. Designed for the latest u - blox F9 platform, it provides a quick, easy, and reliable multi - band solution and can work with any GPS/GNSS receiver that benefits from L1/L2 dual reception. Remember, it won't turn a $20 receiver into a $200 one. Make sure your receiver can use the L1 and L2 signals this antenna outputs. We took it apart to see how it works! It has a 135mm ground plane with a dual - stacked element design and a large RF shield at the back. This antenna has a TNC Male RP connector common in surveying antennas. Use a TNC Male RP to SMA adapter or cable with our GNSS receivers. It uses a standard 5/8'-11TPI connector for surveying equipment, not compatible with camera tripods. Use a 5/8' to 1/4' tripod adapter. You can find 5/8'-11TPI threaded rod in North American hardware stores. Check our DIY GNSS Reference Station tutorial for roof - mounting. Note: SparkX products are cutting - edge but come with no guarantees and no live technical support. Visit SparkFun's forum for help.

Using the BT - 147 antenna is easy. First, check if your receiver can use the L1 and L2 signals it outputs. If you're using it with our GNSS receivers, use a TNC Male RP to SMA adapter or cable. For mounting, if you're using a tripod, make sure to use a 5/8' to 1/4' tripod adapter as the antenna uses a 5/8'-11TPI connector. You can find the right threaded rod in North American hardware stores. If you want to mount it on a roof, refer to our DIY GNSS Reference Station tutorial. Remember, this is an experimental SparkX product, so there are no guarantees. If you have any questions, head to SparkFun's forum. To maintain the antenna, keep it clean and protected from extreme weather. Avoid dropping or hitting it, as this could damage the internal components.
