The GeoFence is an amazing tool that simplifies adding geofencing features to your next project. If you're new to geofencing, it's a virtual boundary set by GPS or RFID tech. When a mobile device crosses this boundary, software can trigger a response. This is great for fleet or asset management, and puzzle games like Mikal Hart’s Reverse Geocache™ or our NCWP Scavenger Box. With the GeoFence app, you can easily define zones on a map by clicking and dragging. The board has four zone indicator LEDs. When it enters a selected zone, the corresponding LEDs light up and the pins switch from low to high. There's also a system status pin to show valid GPS data, useful for larger projects. You can power the GeoFence via the on - board JST connector with a single - cell lithium battery or a regulated 3.3V source. The built - in ceramic antenna usually works well, but you can connect an external GPS antenna if it's in an enclosure. The GeoFence app is written in JavaScript for Electron. Its source is on our GitHub, so you can build it for Windows, Mac, or Linux. We've made a 64 - bit Windows installer for easy setup. SparkX products are made fast to offer cutting - edge tech. Using the GeoFence is a breeze. First, open the GeoFence app. On the map, just click and drag to define the zones you want the board to react to. The four zone indicator LEDs on the board will show you when it enters a zone. To power it, you can use a single - cell lithium battery through the on - board JST connector or a regulated 3.3V source. If you put the board in an enclosure, connect an external GPS antenna using the U.FL connector near the reset button. When using the app, if you're on 64 - bit Windows, you can use the pre - built installer. For other systems, build it from the source on our GitHub. As for maintenance, keep the battery charged if you're using a lithium battery. And since this is an experimental SparkX product, there's no live support.
