Product Details

Enhance your wearable FLORA project with this high - precision 9 - DOF sensor set. It features three sensors. The 3 - axis accelerometer senses the direction of gravity and 3D acceleration, helping you know which way is down and how fast the board is moving. The 3 - axis magnetometer detects the source of the strongest magnetic force, typically used to find magnetic north. The 3 - axis gyroscope measures spin and twist. Combining all this data gives you a real sense of orientation. When we first saw the LSM9DS0 from ST micro, we knew it could make wearables super smart. Design your own activity or motion tracker using all the data it provides. The sensor has a digital (I2C) interface. Connecting it to the FLORA is a breeze. Just align the sensor next to the SDA/SCL pins and sew conductive thread from the 3V, SDA, SCL, and GND pins. It aligns perfectly, so no crossed lines. You can connect only one of these sensors to your FLORA, but you can use the SCL/SDA pins on the opposite side to connect other I2C sensors or outputs. This sensor uses the same Arduino library as our regular LSM9DS0 breakout. Download our library, connect the Vin+GND and SCL/SDA pins, install the library correctly, and upload our test program to read 9 - degree motion data right away.

Using this FLORA 9 - DOF sensor is easy. First, make sure to align the sensor next to the SDA/SCL pins on your FLORA. Then, sew conductive thread from the 3V, SDA, SCL, and GND pins. Remember, you can only connect one of these sensors to your FLORA. But if you want to connect other I2C sensors or outputs, use the SCL/SDA pins on the opposite side. To get it working with Arduino, download our library, connect the Vin+GND and SCL/SDA pins properly, install the library, and upload the test program. As for maintenance, keep the sensor clean and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you have any issues, check the connections and make sure the Arduino library is installed correctly.
