Product Details

The Fingerprint Sensor Unit (FPC1020A) is an all - in - one fingerprint sensor. It simplifies fingerprint addition, verification, and management. With its Uart protocol, compact size, and ultra - low power consumption, it's a great fit for M5Stack series products. It offers fast fingerprint matching with high - level security and user - friendly operation. You can customize the fingerprint recognition comparison and security levels. This unit communicates with M5Core via UART protocol through PORTC. UART settings include a default baudrate of 19200bps, 1 - bit start and stop bits, and no parity. Product features: It can store 1000/1700/2000/3000 fingerprints (default 1700), has a false acceptance rate of <0.001% and false rejection rate of <0.1% at security level 3, with a security level range of 1 - 5 (default 3). It outputs user names, finger images, and feature values. The characteristic value size is 193 bytes. It uses UART for communication, has a fingerprint processing response time of <0.45 seconds, a communication baudrate range of 9600 - 115200 (default 19200), and can operate at temperatures from - 10C to 60C and humidity of 20% - 80%. The kit includes 1 FINGER Unit and 1 Grove Cable. It's ideal for fingerprint attendance machines and fingerprint lockers. Also, there's a FINGER communication protocol available.

Using this fingerprint sensor unit is easy. First, connect it to the M5Core using the Grove Cable via PORTC. Make sure to set the UART settings correctly according to your needs, with the default baudrate being 19200bps. When programming, you can use the provided Arduino IDE code as a guide to perform functions like getting the user number, adding a new user, comparing a finger, or deleting all users. For adding a new user, just call the fpm_addUser function. To compare your finger, use the fpm_compareFinger function. As for maintenance, keep the unit in an environment where the temperature is between - 10C and 60C and the humidity is 20% - 80%. Avoid exposing it to extreme conditions. If you run into any issues, refer to the FINGER communication protocol document for troubleshooting.
