Product Details

This is a breakout board for TI's DRV8834 microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver. It has a very similar pinout and interface to our A4988 carriers, so it can easily replace those boards in many applications. Operating from 2.5 - 10.8 V, it allows stepper motors to run on lower voltages than other drivers. It can continuously deliver up to about 1.5 A per phase without a heat sink or forced air flow (up to 2 A peak). It comes with adjustable current limiting, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and six microstep resolutions down to 1/32 - step. The board is shipped with 0.1" male header pins, not soldered in.








Using this DRV8834 stepper motor driver carrier is easy. First, make sure to connect it properly to your stepper motor and power source according to the pinout. The operating voltage range is 2.5 - 10.8 V, so choose a suitable power supply. You can adjust the current limiting to meet your motor's needs. Remember, it can deliver up to about 1.5 A per phase continuously without a heat sink or forced air flow, but the peak current can reach 2 A. Regarding the microstep resolutions, you can select from six options down to 1/32 - step. As for maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry environment. Avoid over - current situations as it has overcurrent and overtemperature protection, but extreme conditions may still damage the board. When you receive the board, it comes with 0.1" male header pins not soldered in, so you'll need to solder them if required.
